Let's take off with your journey. You're from the Netherlands, living in Sweden, working around the globe. With a very successful modeling career plus an evolving passion for music. Could you tell us a bit about how you got here?
'Growing up in a country's capital gives you a better vision of how the world functions, especially if it’s in one of the coolest cities in the world like Amsterdam. The huge amount of different cultures, shades of people, and rich history have always affected how I perceive the world and its mysteries. As I occasionally got scouted for modeling I decided to give it a go and see what could come out of this. After a few photoshoots, I felt that this was something I could associate myself with. Especially in terms of traveling the world, meeting new people, learning/seeing new things. That's exactly what I spoke into existence when I decided to pursue this journey. I secretly always had a close connection with fashion, its impact, and everything that comes with that. It allows us to show what we like and who we are.
To sing or play an instrument feels like love, you have to experience it to understand
This is quite similar when it comes to music. It’s a close relative to fashion and also has a huge impact on people's lives and the essence of who they are. Music is the universal language of mankind and I have always been attracted to it on an indescribable level. To me, it’s more than just sounds and melodies. To be vocally expressive, sing, or play an instrument feels like love, you have to experience it to understand.'
What work are you most proud of?
'I have the privilege to do so many different cool and fun things. Walking shows for some of the biggest brands in the world is very special, because of the fact that everyone is watching your every move and all that comes with that. Being part of multiple Versace runway fashion shows has been definitely one of the successful opportunities in my career. Spending days in Italy and having Donatella Versace herself style the looks of a show on you are memories for life and definitely something I am proud of.'
What are your key essentials to keep up with your versatile life?
'To have everything in balance is of high importance, especially if you have many things going on for you. It’s always good to have a clear vision of what is going on and what you are doing. Time is essential since everything goes so fast nowadays, so it's good to take things slow if possible and try to take in whatever you are experiencing or going through. Having fun is also very important in combination with work.'
How do you combine work with pleasure?
'By trying to enjoy every second of whatever job I’m doing. I believe that it’s one of the few ways to combine work with pleasure. Especially if your job is something only a very small percentage of people can do.'
It's good to take things slow if possible and try to take in whatever you are experiencing
Is there a small thing you do in your daily routine, that is essential to reach a bigger picture you’re going for?
'Waking up in the morning with the realization of where I started in life, where I am right now, and where I’m headed towards. It reminds me of what is possible when you are willing to put in the hard work.'
What skill would you still like to learn? And what would you do if you got it?
'Learning new languages is very interesting since there are so many. In my opinion one of the best ways to get to understand people, countries and the history of humanity. If I could speak every language in the world I would become an advocate of world peace. Bring people together. Regardless of their race, sex or religion.'
What are your new plans that excite you for the future?
'Expanding my horizon and learning new things. Seeing more of the world, in my opinion, can never not be exciting. There is so much yet to be seen.'
